Battle of the Belt Tennessee, is a statewide friendly competition between high schools to decrease teen motor vehicle traffic accidents, sponsored by the level one trauma centers in the state, TN Dept. of Health, TN Dept. of Ed, Commissioner's Council on Injury Prevention and many others.
The third annual Battle of the Belt Contest for Tennessee High Schools will begin in the fall of 2014.
We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2013 competition. Congratulations to Hixson High School, in Hixson, Tennessee.
“Overall Winner” and “Best Educational Campaign Winner” were awarded to Hixson High School. Hixson High School completed multiple educational events through their “P.A.W.S. for Life” (Prevent Accidents & Wear Seatbelts) program. The Hixson High School Heath Occupations Student (HOSA) Chapter conducted the project.
Summertown High Schools’ programming resulted in a 40.37% increase in seatbelt usage from fall to spring, earning them the “Highest Increase in Seatbelt Use Award”.
